Arachnid or Insect?
The acquisition of this hutch top has raised some questions. The first this or that question we will address (and build…yo!) concerns a base. We’re leaning towards a leggy table base.
Eight legs or six?
If we go with eight, please don’t tell Frankie that this makes you think of an arachnid. Let’s just say, the girl can dance if she sees a spider.

Bohemian Restraint
This Art Deco piece was truly a whimsical find. Frankie and I half-expected it to start walking and talking to us…or at least get into some mischief while in the barn! But this bohemian showed a little restraint.
It now resides in an artful home…with beachcomber finds behind its sunrays. A new form of solar energy, eh?
Go (lemongrass) green!

Sit a Spell III
Does the fabric look familiar?
Remember this? This piece left the barn, went to Spree, and now has a wonderful new home.
From Rabbit Hole Fyne Furnishings
Just stumbled across this (online). I wish I could stumble upon this in the Fig field. I also wish I could sit a spell on this brilliant piece. And I wish I could take an upholstery class. And… as my grandmother said, If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

Define ‘EASY’
MAKES MOVING EASIER…EZ-Load Ramp…
It was right there, in black and white (well, technically red, blue and white)
We looked at the packed woodshop…and questioned those claims.
Then, these words on the back of the truck. (H)elping Hands Along the Way! And, lo and behold, there were helping hands along the way.
Gracias, Marcella, for the big smile that accompanied your hard work.
And much obliged, Joseph, for defining neighbor so well…You and Cherry truly have the uncanny gift of showing up at the right time.
TYVVM, Patrick…a broken leg did not keep you from bringing things we needed at the 11th hour. You are the best gimper.
To Frankie’s fella…you are the cat’s meow.
And to my behind-the-scenes husband…you keep coming home to me…amazing.
Because of you guys, we gals were able to smile at the Spree!

Airy Fairy
Cinderelda is ready…would you agree that she’s a looker?
Airy fairy she is…not in an insubstantial sense but in an ethereal way. She makes us want to listen to this. And we’re wondering if that is stardust, and not sawdust, on the shop floor. Because of her, we are anxious to be

Chalk It Up
According to the math, we load up for The Spree in one week…woohoo!!!
Busy? Yes. Exciting? You betcha.
We have been looking forward and working toward this event for months now. We’re putting finishing touches on a couple of pieces that were unplanned…a visit to Bert’s yielded a couple of pieces that we just could not wait to do. Emalee and Pat McCracken truly have an interesting place to explore and experience.
While it is hard to imagine life after The Spree, thanks to Bert’s we can. One of the first things on the post-Spree schedule is to repaint this chalkboard and hang this lovey in the barn.
I’ve always had a bit of fervor when it comes to a large chalk board. As a little girl, a chalkboard enabled me to have some of the best-schooled stuffed animals imaginable. And as a big-real-schoolteacher-girl, I used these for fractions and algebraic equations. I taught back in the day…before smart boards…unimaginable, I know.
And no, Frankie will not have to hide the chalk from me. Me doodling at the chalkboard while there is Fig work to do? Of course not. And no, no, no…I have not entertained the idea that our sweet barn cats will sit still for me to ‘teach’ them.
Need to make a pre-Spree list…anyone seen my chalk?
